My Journey in Beauty

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by beauty. Hair, makeup, and especially nails were my favourite creative outlets.

That passion led me to study Beauty Skills while still in school and gain real experience through Working Rites, which opened the door to advanced training at The Hair and Beauty Training Academy in Glasgow.

There, I trained in facial skincare, brow treatments, manicures, BIAB, gel polish, spray tanning, and more.

My professional journey truly began on Islay, where I worked at The Serenity Space alongside Megan Johnstone. When Megan went on maternity leave, I saw an opportunity and took a leap of faith to open my own salon.

With support from mentors, family, and my community, I started “Beauty by Amy.” While still working part-time at Little Charlottes Café, I’ve steadily grown the business into a warm, welcoming space for expert nail services.

My goal is simple, to help every client feel confident and beautiful, inside and out.
